50L Keg - Irish Red Ale: This beer is Smooth, creamy, with low perceived bitterness, slightly drying. The addition of nitrogen gas (70%N2 : 30%CO2) to the carbonation of the beer replicates old cask (wooden) style beers that were carbonated at very low levels and served warmer (giving creamier taste perception). The Nitrogen forces CO2 out of solution resulting in the cascading effect, additionally the use of a special ‘nitro’ tap aids this process (by restricting the flow of beer).
